Clear Hills is a mid-century community of 7 duplexes and 11 single family homes that makes it unique in the area. It was one of the first condominium projects registered in Oregon. Wes Bauman filed the original Declaration & By-Laws for Clear Hills in 1966. He is known for developing the adjacent Montclair neighborhood and was an active developer in the 1960's on Portland's West Side. In 1969, Mr. Bauman purchased the Gertsch family dairy farm in Garden Home and sold the NW part of the farm to the school district for what is now Montclair School.
